Brunch and Bubbly - Nashville Wedding Food Inspiration

Who doesn’t love brunch?  We certainly do! One of the trends we have seen over the past few years are couples swapping out chicken on the dinner menu and bringing in breakfast for dinner instead! Or maybe you’re thinking of a late morning/mid-afternoon wedding or elopement? Whatever the time of your event, bring in brunch favorites like a waffle bar or warm french toast to pair with hot coffee and mimosas - your guests will swoon!  Below we will talk about some of the biggest brunch hits at Ravenswood Mansion - they’re so good you just might want to add one or two to your upcoming wedding with us.

Coffee Cart

Have a favorite coffee shop where you two met? Coffee carts are the cutest addition to our back porch and a unique way to incorporate your love story into your big day. How can you get a coffee cart, you ask? Bloom Coffee Cart is one of many local coffee companies who can provide that service, which includes specialty coffees. Did you know many of the bartending services on our vendor guide list also offer an upscale coffee service? Check them out! Not interested in adding a whole new service? Use one of our bars available already your rental and ask your caterer to add coffee service to your menu for an easy, cost effective option.

Donut Wall

Donut mind if we do talk about this sweet, delectable treat at weddings. We love a good donut wall just as much as anyone. It’s a great way to have your feature dessert be something other than cake, yet it’s still elegant enough to be your main sweet of the day or night.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking of having donuts at your reception during the mid spring / summer, you might want to pair the donut display with personalized napkins, as the sun will melt the donut glaze and cause some sticky fingers! You could also substitute smaller, mini donuts to decrease the amount of icing - one can never have too many donuts!

What are the pros saying?

We asked one of our caterers on our vendor guide list, Mary Nell Brevard with Flavor to chime in on the great brunch boom of 2022. Mary Nell said, “We dive into brunch “stations” in order to give your guests the opportunity to partake in their favorites and perhaps try a bite of something new. Shrimp and Grits Bar, Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles, and Flavor’s signature French Toast Casserole bring you a slice of Nashville to pair with a Spicy Bloody Mary. Live action omelet bars, crab cakes, and mini spring mix and strawberry salads alongside a mimosa bar give you a classic approach that pleases the masses. We of course round out any brunch menu with a Frothy Monkey brew. Post-wedding brunches or even brunch for dinner can surprise your guests in all the best ways!”

We couldn’t agree more, Mary Nell!

Pro Tip: Scale down pancakes to highlight some of your other menu selections with a silver dollar pancake bite sized stack for your guests to nibble on during cocktail hour. They are the perfect hand held appetizer!
